  1. 1. Morris made this film because he heard what was going on in Vernon and wanted to go check it out for himself. He knew that talking to all those people would be interested and entertaining.

    2. I think that the film made the point that everyone in this world is different. People do strange things and Morris got to catch a glimpse of what their lives are like.

    3. I think it's interesting that Morris didn't ask the people any questions. He just held up the camera and let them speak.

    4. I honestly don't really empathize with anything in this film.

    5. I sympathize with the people in the documentary because it appears as if they aren't as blessed as we are.

    6. The people who thought sand would grow are the most fascinating people in this documentary. I don't understand why they think sand grows...

    7. I would tell the story of life at EHS. I would talk about my experiences there and how much I am looking forward to college next year.

Overall, I thought the documentary was very entertaining and worth watching. The people had a lot of interesting things to say and I really enjoyed it.

  2. 1. Morris made this film because he heard that it was the highest payout town for injuries.
    2. This film shows that some people in the world are very weird.
    3. The weird people!
    4. Nothing, those people are weird.
    5. I feel sorry for the lack of knowledge they seem to have.
    6. The couple with the sand because they thought it would grow!
    7. I would tell them my experiences living in England.

These people were hilarious to listen to because they just rambled on about nothing. They also weren't the smartest sounding bunch, which made the movie even more funny.

  3. 1. Errol Morris made "Vernon, Florida" as a byproduct of his first attempt to document the inhabitants of Vernon in a film called "Nub City" about lopping off limbs to collect insurance money. "They literally became a fraction of themselves to become whole financially," Morris commented.

    2. This film shows the thought process that occurs through some people in small towns in the US

    3. I was interested in the town's oblivious nature, and the way they spoke.

    4. I think I only sympathize with these townsfolk.

    5. I sympathize with the town about their isolation and their lack of education.

    6. I thought the couple who grew sand was the most entertaining of the bunch.

    7. I would tell of my travels around the world.

The few times I could understand what they were saying I thought it was interesting how these people stood wholeheartedly behind everything they were saying.

  5. 1. Errol Morris made the film because he was interested in the high percentage of residents who were intentionally cutting their limbs for insurance money.

    2. The film made me realize that everyone is different and not everyone has the same life values.

    3. The film made me realize that the people of Vernon, Florida are very eccentric and somewhat closed-minded to the world around them.

    4. I don't empathize with anything.

    5. I have sympathy for the people in the town because they have obviously never really been exposed to anyone/anything outside of their small town.

    6. The older couple who thought the sand would grow.

    7. I would talk about my daily life and what I hope to do with my life in the future.

The documentary was very funny and worth watching. I recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh.

3.) I found it interesting that all of the people that were videotaped appeared to be uneducated.

4.) They emphasized the older people that were uneducated in the town.

5.) I have no idea Coach Cook.

7.) I would most likely stare at the camera in disbelief, i would probably not do anything
